Truck Driver Wins Semi-Truck

We believe that any worthy and interested person should be able to enter the semi-truck industry, regardless of their financial need. This is why we're delighted to share recent semi-truck industry news about Troy Davidson, a talented new truck driver who graduated recently from the Milton Trucking Institute. Thanks to his record and demonstrated need, Davidson won a Kenworth T680 semi-truck from Transition Trucking.

Transition Trucking helps veterans get started in the trucking industry with the Driving For Excellence Award. The award aims to combat the trucking industry's shortage of drivers while also helping veterans become part of the workforce. In order to qualify for the award, applicants needed to be veterans who recently graduated from a trucking school and hard a recent job offer with a trucking company. Davidson beat out two other finalists to win.

Davidson is a veteran of the Navy who's overcome obstacles in his life to become successful in the Navy and truck driving industry. As a child, he helped his family out from a young age after his mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. In addition to chores around the home, Davidson also helped out his father with the family business, a cemetery.

Along with his work at the cemetery, Davidson also had an uncle who was a semi-truck driver, and his dad did some work operating heavy machinery, family connections that inspired him to train as a truck driver after his Navy service. To finance truck school, Davidson used the G.I. Veterans Bill. Now, thanks to the veterans bill and winning a new truck, Davidson can earn money more quickly without having to worry about making truck or student loan payments.

We're always interested in helping new and mid-career truck drivers find creative financing methods to help them afford their own semi-trucks. Let us know if you'd like to discuss available options.
