2019 Backlog in New Semi Trucks Keeps Used Market Strong

The trucking and shipping industries remain strong at the start of 2019 as the Class 8 truck manufacturers work through a backlog of new truck orders.  A recent article in Fleet Owner noted that orders of new Class 8 trucks placed in all of 2018 hit a record-busting high of 490,100 units versus the previous record set in 2004 of 390,000 units, according to Kenny Vieth of ACT Research.

These robust order numbers have created a backlog for Class 8 truck manufacturers that extends well into the later months of 2019.  For many fleets, new builds won't be available for delivery until late in the third quarter the year.  For smaller fleets or individual owner-operators, the current backlog of new builds is just one more reason to consider purchasing refurbished semi truck from a specialist in used semi truck, trailer, and equipment sales.

Michigan Truck & Equipment, a leader in the used truck industry, offers a wide variety of inventory of semi trucks and trailers that are fully refurbished and ready to hit the road.  Why wait for a new build when you can save time and money on a warrantied used semi truck?    Michigan Truck & Equipment is proud to offer the TruckGuard Vehicle Services Contract for the used Class 8 Trucks in their inventory.  Coverage terms range from 12 months/50,000 miles to 5 years/200,000 miles for vocational trucks and the warranty is offered to both dealerships and franchises.  Deductibles and coverages can be customized to meet your individual or fleet needs.
